BIOGRAPHY AND BIBLIOGRAPHY

Barnes is opposed to the practice taught in many writing classes--"write about something you know". He thinks that is for amateurs. Writers must use their imaginations!

So he tries to keep all elements of autobiography out of his work. Critics continually look for personal life influences in his work. He feels that is an easy out for them from tackling the important messages of the plays.

So for now, here, there will be no biography section. Listen to the plays first.
